Why We Developed Heme-Onc Primer
Oncology is becoming increasingly complex, and even one cancer subtype can have a large amount of information to review. Many available resources are excellent, but they can also be very detailed and time-consuming.
Heme-Onc Primer was created with medical students, internal medicine residents, and hematology-oncology fellows in mind. The goal is to provide practical, high-yield notes that help learners understand the basic framework of each disease area without feeling overwhelmed.
Each topic is kept concise, with the goal of being reviewable in about 30 minutes or less. Where possible, we include simple frameworks, practical tips, and easy-to-remember concepts to help learners organize and retain key information.
These notes can serve as a starting point or “backbone” for building deeper oncology knowledge over time. They may also be helpful for focused review during exam or board preparation.
This website is not meant to replace guidelines, textbooks, board review courses, institutional protocols, or clinical judgment. It is intended as an educational resource to help simplify the basics and make oncology more approachable.
We choose to do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
